Here are the instructions for setting time limits on Windows Vista®:

  1. Click Start -> Control Panel -> User Accounts and Family Safety
  2. Under Parental Controls choose Set up parental controls for any user
  3. Select the account that you want to apply restrictions to
  4. Make sure parental controls are activated by checking there is a tick in the On, enforce current settings radio button 
  5. Select Time Limits 
  6. Click on the hours of the day you want to limit interent access to the computer. The boxes will turn blue to show that access has been blocked for those hours.
  7. Close down the various windows, and relax. And make sure your children use the relevant user account to access the computer. And don't give them the password for your account, or you've just wasted 5 minutes of your life you won't get back again!
